ODONG IVAN

Odongo Ivan is a youth leader, civil engineer and community mobiliser whose journey into leadership was deeply shaped by the people who raised him and the values they instilled in him.

Today, he serves as the Youth Chairperson of Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality, where he represents the interests of young people and works to mobilise them to participate in programmes and initiatives aimed at improving their social and economic wellbeing.

His leadership journey is not simply a story of political positions. It is a story of service, responsibility, resilience and a deep commitment to people particularly the young people he represents.

A Childhood Shaped by Compassion

Ivan was born to Mr. Oryemu Richard and Mrs. Nakidde Jane. Sadly, he lost his mother at a very young age.

He was subsequently raised by Mrs. Nalubwama Olivis and her husband, Mr. Odongo Christopher, who played a profound role in his life.

They provided him with the love, shelter, education, healthcare, guidance and support that a parent gives to a child. It was through their care and compassion that Ivan grew up with a strong appreciation for responsibility, humanity and service to others.

It was also from Mr. Odongo Christopher that Ivan took the name Odongo.
